Mandy's Wedding

Our very good friend Mandy, on her wedding day.

I made her wedding cake.

Fun With Hallie

Hallie came for a visit this week.

They all had a ball with the watercolors.

Hallie is 14 days younger than Molly & Lindy and she has lost her first tooth. I'm so sad thinking that these girls are growing up!

Pixy Stixs!

The girls got pixy stixs at a party the other day.

Loved 'em!

More please!
You notice they are eating them outside!

Funny story--
I'm taking a bath and you know how it is, I had an onlooker/helper, aka Lindy.
She suddenly says: "mom, you legs are like thunder"
Okay, I'm thinking, huh? Ask her to repeat and she does. Then with a giggle I say "do you mean lightening"? To which she bobs her head yes. I laugh and point to my oh so pretty spider veins.
Gotta love the mind of a child. :)

The Golden Dragon Acrobats

The Golden Acrobats Show did a performance at the college in town. Of course we went. We want to show our girls their heritage and traditions as much as we can. Acrobats are very popular in China. This show consisted of 21 young artist from Cangzhou & Hebei provinces in China. It is an art that is taken seriously and the talent is great. We had the pleasure of seeing an acrobat show on each trip to China. They are truly amazing. It is unreal what these people can do. Lots of training and skills is needed.

Mamaw & Papaw came to see the show. Papaw even wore his Chinese shirt that read "grandpa".

The girls love to dress in their authentic Chinese dresses.

Uncle Jeff & Aunt Donna also came to see the show.

Mommy & her china dolls!

Grandma Rafferty also came. We are so blessed that our family shares our interest in the Chinese culture.

The picture aren't too good because I couldn't use a flash. The performers looked young. Molly loved the outfits. Lindy has decided that she wants to "do dat" when she gets bigger. Molly clapped for each act. Lindy's eyes didn't leave the stage, her head looked like a ping pong game!

Double Trouble Birthday Bash

Saturday afternoon we made a trip to Newburg IN for a birthday party at the park. The girls had a blast seeing and playing with their friends. It had been a while since I had seen everyone so it was a treat for me as well.

Here is the gang. Birthday girls Lucy (in purple) & sister Lei Lei (in red) turned 6 & 5.
The park has a big club house and sand pit. All the kids had a blast.

And a fire pole!

And lots of slides.

Bubba & Baseball

This past week the girls a& I managed to gt to one of Colin's ball games. He did really well and the team won!

David & I started calling him "Bubba" when he was just a little tot. He was such a cute little chunk of a boy. And I believe at the time there was this music video with a chubby guy named Bubba in it. The nickname has stuck to him and our family still calls him this. He likes it too.

He pinch hits for one of his teammates.

He got several hits this day.

Lindy would sit and chatter "go Bubba, go Bubba" from her seat.

He made several scores too.

The weather has been gorgeous for a few weeks now. After the game we had a picnic in the park. It was a long day but we had a blast.

Another Parade

Tis the season for hometown parades, homecoming and celebrations. This past week we hit two parades in one day. David rides his home made tall bike in parades and I try to get to the ones that are close.

Here is my cousin Chris again carring the flag with the VFW.
This is at Crossville.

I have several family members that live in Crossville. My dad was raised here. Molly is trying on my aunts hat. As you can see she isn't real thrilled about it.

Neither is Lindy. I can't say that I blame them!

They just wanted to fill their buckets with candy!

A Short Week, But Long Days

Lindy got to bring home the class baby one day this week.
Abby Ann was well taken care of!

New gymnastic suits

It has been a short week because of Labor Day on Monday. But this week has been far from a fast moving week. We had to say goodbye to a dear lady this week. David's Aunt Mary was layed to rest on Wednesday. She was a wonderful lady. Always full of life and happy. But, in the last few years she has experienced a lot of health issues that made her home bound and even bed ridden at times. She will be terribly missed by everyone who knew her. She adored our girls and I know she would have loved to see them more than she did.
Our lose is Heavens gain
Rest in peace Aunt Mary

Dentist Time

Lindy is getting her teeth cleaned. She chose chocolate toothpaste! YUCK!

Molly is ready too. She wants bubblegum flavor.

Bad news is that Miss Lindy has two cavities!
Xrays for her.

A few days later we are back to fix the cavity. She did great. Here they are giving her gas. She too interested in the tv on the ceiling.

Then they hook up the nemo game.

She didn't even know she was getting a shot! She did so good. The only thing she didn't like while in the chair was the clamp thing they were using to hold her mouth open. So they took it out. Later in the day she talked about her mouth feeling funny. I'm sure it was tingling from the numbness wearing off.
My mom had went with us. After the dentist we went to lunch. She was able to eat french fries and a grilled cheese. Next month we will do it again.
