A Few Things We Have Done This Week

Early in the week, when the weather was cold, the girls broke out the water colors we bought them a few weeks ago.

They had a blast. I think they painted five pictures each.

On Wednesday, Mamaw & Papaw was in town and ate lunch with us! The girls got to show off their jumping skills on the trampoline for them.

Thursday afternoon we went to Bealls Woods for a fun afternoon.

Swinging

and climbing!

Picking flowers.

Checking out the boat dock.

And hugging this tree!

Week Of The Young Child

This week has been "the week of the young child" in our town. So each day at school they girls had special themes for the day. Like, Monday was favorite t-shirt day (sorry no picture).

Tuesday was crazy hat day. The girls got these hats from Aunt Donna for Christmas. They were perfect!

Wednesday was crazy hair day. We went wild.

Daddy even got in on the fun! He takes them to school every morning and he wanted crazy hair too.

Thursday was crazy sock day.

I fixed them up some faces and bells!
A field trip planned for tomorrow. They are looking forward to it because they get to take a lunch!

Thankful Thursday

Psalms 37:4
Take delight in the Lord,
and he will grant you your heart's request.

I have been MIA from Thankful Thursday for some time now. But never the less I have been thankful anyway. I always thank the Lord for my family. I can't imagine life without them.

I'm thankful that my children love nature and life in general. They find joy in everything they do. Even brushing their teeth. Here they are trying to catch and pet a toad.

I am thankful for the little things that most adults take for granted. Like weeds! To my kids they are great fun.

I am thankful for this beautiful face.

And swings!
God has granted my heart's request! I have wanted children for forever.... and look what I got!!

AOK Kid Carnival

Yesterday we took the kids to the Kid Carnival at the 4H center. It is sponsored by several organizations in town and completely free to the public. Each year it gets better. The girls were looking forward to going and were up early and wanting to go asap! But it didn't begin until 11:00 and daddy needed to take a short nap since he worked the night before.
There was so much to do and see, it was hard getting around to everything. The weather was perfect.
This year "The Cat In The Hat" (aka Miss Mary from School) was there. They received a new book from the cat!

There were three bounce houses/slides for the kids to play on. This was one of the favorite of the day.

A medical helicopter was there too. The kids were fascinated as they watched it land in the field. They each got to sit in the seat and received a sticker.

Then it was on to the train! Lindy loved riding in it.

Molly too!

There was face painting!

And games with prizes!

A bubble blowing paper project. This was pretty cool!

The Masonic Lodge from West Salem sponsored DNA test kits for kids. Momma liked this best of all. I pray it will never be used, but it is good to have. They collected fingerprints, spit on a Q-tip, height & weight and even a interview of each kid, which was put onto a CD. I was pretty impressed. And they recommended for us to update it every year or so.

Pooped out! So was mommy & daddy!!

Easter 2009

The girls woke to find that the Easter Bunny had left a trail of eggs from the back door all the way to their baskets. Molly decided that he must have been in a hurry. And they were amazed that he knew that they loved "Tom & Jerry" & tootsie rolls!
After several pieces of candy we all got ready for church. Molly & Lindy were all decked out in their new dresses.

We were able to get a nice picture in front of the Easter flowers after church.
Then we drove to my parents house. We had a great Easter lunch/dinner with my family. My sister & her family were there too.

Then it was time for the big Easter egg hunt!

Lindy & Molly really enjoyed this part of the day!

Trip To Tennessee

Good Friday is a holiday for David at work, so we packed up and headed to Cottontown TN to visit his sister Ellen & her family. This time David's mom was able to go with us.
Mike & Ellen have lived there for almost two years now. There are a few things they miss from here, like Taco Tierra and Sandy's Pizza in Ft. Branch. We were able to take pizza with us this time. It was really good.
We really did not have much planned to do except enjoy the kids ball games. But, the weather did not cooperate and we didn't get to see any games :( As a matter of fact, on Friday there were tornado's in the area and we had to take shelter in a neighbors basement.
Ellen & I did make it to the mall Thursday evening and David got to check out a few motorcycle shops in the area. But other than that we just hung out and the girls played and played.

Ellen's bath tub is a big one. All three girls took a bubble bath one night.

Faith turned 6 in March. She was still sporting a front tooth when we arrived. But with Aunt Sherry's help (I pulled it for her) she is now $2 richer after the tooth fairy came. Molly & Lindy insisted that the tooth fairy was not real.... until they saw the money where the tooth had been. Then they were convinced and can't wait until it's their turn!

We had a great visit.

Fairies & Quilts

We spent all day Saturday at my parents house. We also got to spend time with Uncle Jeff, Aunt Donna, Daniel and Colin. The weather warmed up enough in the afternoon that the girls got to go outside with Colin. Her played ball with them and took them for a golf cart ride. They fell asleep on the way home and slept all night!

Mom's latest quilt is finished. It's a twin size, hand quilted in yellow. It's beautiful.

Sunday was a very lazy day for me. I felt bad most of the day. Sometime that afternoon I tried to work on a quilt for a while. Molly & Lindy played with my basket of little pieces.

They enjoyed stacking them up and laying them out. Molly said she was making a quilt for her baby. Maybe someday she will. We have been working on their special OHGWQ. They are really enjoying "helping" with them.

Today I had fairies flying all day. They dressed up with their outfits most of the day.

Here We Are!

I know, I know, I'm slackin'! It's been almost a week since I blogged. We have been busy and I haven't felt the best (flu or something). Anyway, I'm back to tell you about our week.
Last Thursday afternoon we met our friends Maggie & her mom Laney at the Evansville Children's Museum. We had a fun few hours there. The girls had a great time.

Here are the three girls posing in front of the museum.

Checking out the gears.

Laney is reading a book to the girls.

Molly is climbing up to the spiral slide.

Lindy is having fun, I promise!

All three girls loved the water room the best. They got so wet. I knew this may happen so I took a change for them.

Maggie doesn't want to go yet!

Sweet!

Precious!

BFF's!
