Day 6 In China- 3 Years Ago

February 6, 2006
Adoption Day
Our first morning as a family started well. We heard Molly begin to stir in her crib. So I was up fixing her morning bottle. She did not cry when she rose up from her sleep. (thank the Lord) We started our morning quietly by laying her between us on the bed while she took her bottle. The look on her face told us she was unsure what was going on and was a little frightened. But she was dong well considering all the changes in her life.

After her bottle and some play time I decided we'd try a bath. It did not go to well. She cried when I took her clothes off. Then after she was in the tub for a few seconds she started screaming!! Hated the bath!! So it was a very quick one. She cried at bath time the whole time in China.
After breakfast we had to go back to the Civil Affairs Office to complete the paperwork for the Chinese side of the of the adoption. The photo above is when we were leaving the Civil Affairs office that day.

The rest of the day was a "free"day, meaning there was no official business or touring to do.

As a matter of fact the rest of the weeks was low key. We had applied for Molly's Chinese passport (which takes about 4-5 days to process) , so the week was spent taking walks, napping, eating, shopping, playing with the other kids and sightseeing. Molly seemed to be happy and enjoyed playing with everyone in the group. She ate well and slept well from the start. We were so glad. She is such a sweetie, we are on cloud nine!!
